A Dose of Religion

I realize that religion can be such a controversial topic and I found a quote by Jonathan Swift that goes “We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.” SO true isn't it?

Growing up I have studied many different religions. My fathers side of the family was Catholic, my mothers side Christian. Then there was a woman who was a Jehovah's Witness who came to my home weekly and read me stories. And as a teen I took teachings from Mormon missionaries. Now that I am an adult I have Christian beliefs. I do wish I lived my life more according to the bible but that isn't always the case. I do try but God isn't finished with me yet.

What are your beliefs?

I am a Christian. I was raised by non-practicing parents and came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior through a street ministry when I was 8 years old. I started attending a Christian church when I was 13 and have never stop since. I am so grateful that God saved me.

I too am a Christian. I was raised in a Christain Church. With the love and guidance of my grandfather I attended that church from age 3 to 22 years old and got married there. My hubby is Baptist and so is his I guess I am a good mix of the two. we have not been back to church in a while and are in search of a good church home.

I'm a Christian. I was raised in Non-Denominational churches. I guess you can say they were "Evangelical".
The one I attended the longest as a child/teen believe in speaking in tongues and my husband and I attend a church here that doesn't believe in it (strict Assembly of God) which has me feeling conflicted because I do believe in the power of tongues as I've received it.
So we continue to search for a church we feel better connected to.
My husband grew up with two Atheists as parents but was saved at age 22 with the help of one of his friends who wouldn't give up on him and finally got him into church.
And praise God, my hubby's sister is now a Christian, too!!
(now we just need to work on his parents, LOL).
