1980's BLOG HOP CROP

Welcome to the If It's Groovy's 80's Blog Hop Crop! Our blog hop starts on June 4th and ends on June 14th. That's 10 whole days of cropping fun and many chances to win some awesome prizes! Please make sure to visit the If It's Groovy blog for the 1st crop challenge by Deb and you'll be directed through all the others one by one.

If you are already going through the blog hop and have been through the first 4 girls challenges then you should be coming to me with crimped hair, neon colored ensembles, colorful scrunchy socks and be all heavy metaled out. Talk about starting off a blog hop with a bang ha?

MY challenge is for you to think of an 80's Icon, Fad or Toy (say for instance: Atari, Pac-Man, Strawberry Shortcake, Smurfs, Rubik's Cube, Chinese Jacks, Rainbow Brite, Pound Puppies, etc.) and use it for inspiration on your layout.

The winner of my challenge will be picked on June 16th at Midnight and be announced on my blog on June 17th. You must "follow my blog" and notify me within 3 days with your mailing address to claim your prize. To enter for your chance to win all you need to do is leave a comment with a link to your blog where you have your layout displayed. This is the Prize Pack for the winning contestant for my Blog Challenge.

It's a prize package worth approx. $25 for you to enjoy!

So go get scrapping and when your done come back and go to Amy's Crop Challenge to see what's in store for you next!

Here are MY takes on some of these ladies challenges:

For Deb's CRIMPING Challenge I used a strip of white corrugated paper. My layout is of my darling daughters Eva and Deja and I titled this "Heart and Soul".

Here's my two-fer for Jenny B. and Niki Ray's challenges. Jenny B's rules were to use neon colors and I used hyper orange. Niki Ray's rules were to use 2 dominating colors + something music related and I used the colors orange and teal + a strip of music sheet patterned paper. This is a picture of me when I was a youngen' in the 80's. I LOVED my Jelly sandals so much that I went to bed with them on - Hence the title "I went to bed with My Jellies on!".

For Amy's "Hair" Challenge I thought it fit to create some altered items for my Mother-In-Law who works as a hairstylist. I made a personalized banner to go above her mirror at her work station, a hair brush holder and a tip jar.

This layout is for Ange's "80's Slang" Challenge. The layout is titled "Oh My GOTH!" These are pictures of my friend's granddaughter.

This layout was made with 3 challenges in mind. My own, Debbie's "Video Games" Challenge and Jackie's "PacMan" Challenge. The layout is titled "Where's PACMAN when you need him?" I thought it fit since the paper was filled with a bunch of white pellet dots. This is me as a toddler with my broken leg playing my PacMan Game. Oh how I loved that game!!! I still play it on my cell phone today.

I used pictures of my friends granddaughter for Michelle's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper Challenge.

I soooo wish I could participate in the challenges. But work deadlines are looming and there just isn't enough time in the day. *sigh* I am jotting them in an inspiration notebook to do at a later date though. I just wanted to let you know I think these layouts are AWESOME! I especially love Heart and Soul! Beautiful...just beautiful! :)

Hi Lynnette! I've been able to finish a layout for this challenge. I will always love my first child, my Cabbage Patch baby, Corinne Cindy. Here is the journaling:
"This is my first little one! Her name is Corinne Cindy. I actually had to fight a lady at Service Merchandise for her in 1985. She was the last Cabbage Patch baby on the shelf. I waited weeks to get one! I strapped her into a car seat when I got her to take her to see her “daddy”, Rob. We were practicing for the real thing! Reaves was born just a year later. He too loved Corinne Cindy. When we had our car accident in 1988, he cried and insisted the rescue workers save, ‘his baby”. How precious!"

You can see my layout here:http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Wt70TAQSFrE/Si7MSMTXyDI/AAAAAAAABmk/N-S28sQMUr0/s1600-h/Corinne+Cindy.jpg

Thanks for a great challenge Lynnette!

Here's my LO, Lynnette.

I was totally in love with the Smurfs when I was little in the 80's so I used the red/blue colors of Papa Smurf as inspiration for my layout. Here's Papa Smurf http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o197/jennybrannies/papa_smurf.jpg
and here's my layout http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o197/jennybrannies/SCRAPBOOK%20STUFF%20ONLY/061309.jpg

Thanks! Great challenge!
